Arms that think

Agent-native data engineering · built with claude
Enterprise data platforms, built and run by a small team with AI agents.
We pair reusable, configuration-driven platform modules with an agent layer built on Claude. A platform that usually needs a large team ships in weeks — tested and documented from day one.
The problem
Every enterprise data platform needs ingestion, orchestration, monitoring, access control and testing. Most teams rebuild them from scratch, document them last and test them by hand.
Ingestion and orchestration rewritten for every new platform.
Documentation written at the end — if at all.
Data quality checked by people clicking through reports.
The octopus model
An octopus has around 500 million neurons, and roughly two-thirds of them live in its arms. Each arm senses, decides and acts on its own, while the central brain keeps the whole animal on course. That is how we build data platforms.
One brain to coordinate. Eight arms that think for themselves.
In natureEach arm touches, tastes and decides locally.
At OktolabSpecialist agents own their work end to end: pipelines, tests, QA, documentation and reviews.
In natureThe central brain sets direction, not every movement.
At OktolabAn orchestrator plans and dispatches the work. People make the calls that matter.

At OktolabWe work inside your environment and follow your conventions. Your data never leaves it.
Platform
Push and pull replication from ERP, analytical, relational and REST sources. Full and incremental loads from one YAML catalog.
Dependency-aware runs from raw to curated layers. Event-driven, with no external scheduler to operate.
Layered transformations with a run registry, so business users always know how fresh their data is.
Cost tracking, flexible budgets and pipeline health — dashboards for IT and for department heads.
Generic, configurable channels. Event-triggered, so it costs nothing when there is nothing to report.
Role-based access model, SSO and SCIM provisioning, service accounts — least privilege by default.
Declarative environments per business unit, with CI/CD that shows a change plan before every deploy.
Automated test plans, role-based personas and source-to-target reconciliation, with a report for every run.
How we work
An orchestrator agent breaks the work down, dispatches it to specialist agents and collects their status.
A shared library of skills turns every change into a tracked issue, a branch and a reviewable merge request.
Multi-agent reviews run in parallel across code and design. Findings land in the tracker, prioritised.
Agents prepare options and trade-offs. Architecture, merges and anything irreversible stay with people.
Meet Okto
Okto is our mascot and a reminder that automation should feel like a helpful colleague. When Okto is not building data platforms, it runs Oktolab itself:
Reads incoming and outgoing invoices, matches payments and sets aside tax reserves.
Pulls and classifies mail, then hands the relevant items to the agents that act on them.
Audits third-party agent skills before anything is installed — instructions, scripts and network calls.
Containerised research, transcription and speech pipelines that feed our knowledge base.
Security & confidentiality
Like an octopus changing colour to match the reef, we take on your conventions, your tools and your security rules.
Agents work inside your environment, with scoped roles and service accounts.
Credentials live in vaults and key stores — not in code, repos or conversations.
Tooling runs in containers; sensitive work is separated from everything else.
We work under NDA and never name clients or reuse their data.
Tell us where you are. We will answer with a concrete plan, not a sales deck.
